As landscape designers we have advised and worked on development within historical landscape, development in Conservation Areas, landscape for Listed Buildings, Tree Preservation Orders TPO's and Scheduled Monuments.

We have undertaken design and development plans for listed buildings and property in conservation areas where a sensitive approach and planning approval was necessary to allow development.

Planning approvals

We can guide you through the planning process and assist with development plans. Detailed negotiations are often required with the Local Authority and wildlife groups to ensure that the value and integrity of the existing buildings and landscape are maintained as much as possible.

Development and diversification

Many historic properties are exploring opportunities for diversification to bring employment and income to otherwise underused buildings. This may involve development of holiday accommodation, restaurant or other commercial use, but is also a means to secure historic value for the future.

Landscape features and setting

Where sites contain protected or mature parkland trees, a tree survey is usually required to assess their condition. This will assist development layout and help safeguard trees of landscape value. New trees can be used to replace some older veteran trees, and additional tree and shrub planting can be used to enhance and protect the setting.
